The tension has been rising, the emotions have been flying high and the battle has been building up, but now it is finally time for Forrester and Wright to fight it out. The two strikers are both on 14 goals for the season leading into the last game and both will be hoping to claim the club's Golden Boot Award.

Ben Wright's goal against Morecambe means that both him and Forrester are tied on 14 goals for the season. Wright's 14 goals have been spread over 11 games and his goals have won us 7 points. It's a complete turn around for the striker after he was completely left out of the squad under Schofield and Deehan, making one brief cameo appearance against Doncaster.

Schofield and Deehan were sacked on October 15th and Ben Wright has played in every match since then. He scored his first goal on his league debut for the Imps against Peterborough United. A return of 14 league goals in his first 37 games for the club is quite respectable. Wright's first season also includes four insists and no bookings.

His rival for the golden boot will be Jamie Forrester. His season was stop-start for the opening section of the season. There were heavy rumours in October that he was going to sacked by the club, but he has been a near ever-present since Peter Jackson joined the club. It seems almost strange that Forrester is has played the most games for the Imps this season.

Forrester's 14 goals have been spread across 13 games and he currently sits on 37 goals in a Lincoln City shirt in 100 appearances for the club. Forrester is often rated as the most intelligent player at the club and comes as some surprise to read that he has only contributed with three assists.

Both head into the final game knowing that they are the likely front two and whoever scores will probably end the season as the leading goalscorer. Jamie will probably go into the game as slight favourite to retain his accolade but who do you think will gain the golden boot out of the two? Post your opinions below.

I'd like to see 3 goals each on saturday then they'd have even more to fight for next season.
