Mass cull takes another victim

Ryan Amoo became the 8th player in a week to leave Sincil Bank. The midfielder's contract still had a year to run but he has agreed to have the remainder cancelled. Amoo joined the Imps in 2006 and played 56 games for the club, scoring 3 goals along the way. He will mainly be remembered for his two goals giving us the victory that everyone wanted over Peterborough.

Amoo joined 2 years ago as Deehan and Schofield tried to create a new atmosphere at the club and play flowing football. It seemed to work at first as Amoo was a valuable member of the team during the run that saw us go to the top of the table.

His form slightly dipped but then his Lincoln City career peaked against Peterborough United. A goal in either half saw City gain victory over the Dosh....sorry, Posh. His career declined after that though and he has found himself very low in the pecking order, a string of injuries didn't help his cause either.

Amoo will now probably go back into the non-league.

Rather than the players it is Schofield who finished Mazza's and Amoo's careers at the bank.

If he had bought the necessary defenders last summer I think Mazza would still be here.

Amoo's flexibility allowed Schofield to play him out of position too often, again because he had not signed any defenders.

Will always be grateful to Amoo for those 2 goals v Pish, in one of my Top 10 Lincs days/matches of all time!

We have had and no doubt will have, far worse footballers representing us in the future!
