Reaction to Louis Dodds' 2007/8

Louis Dodds joined on loan from Leicester City just before the beginning of the season, 44 games and 9 goals later and he might be set to join permanently. However, I am not exactly sure that I would want Louis Dodds back as he often was anonymous during the games, very often not making any form of impact.

Louis Dodds arguably had a very good loan stint at Sincil Bank. He managed to score 9 goals whilst being played out of position the majority of the time, however, being played out of position doesn't give you an excuse not to make an impact of any type.

There were many, many games where you could be forgiven for not noticing that Dodds was playing. He was largely anonymous for at least 30 of the 44 matches in which he played. Even if you are played out of position, you could still play some decent passes or create space for either yourself or others.

It is because of this that I don't believe that Dodds would be a worthwhile purchase on a permanent basis.

Don't get me wrong, Dodds does have his strong points and has a decent finish on him, but I feel that if we are to go for promotion next season then I believe we need to bring in players that will turn up for more than 7/8 games in a season.

I agree that there has certianly been games where Dodds has made little impact, if he was to be signed I'd personally want him to be battling for one of the striker positions, we need natural wingers on either flank, but Dodds is still young, very good finisher and could make a decent forward, could all depend on who else is available to sign within the budget

I have to agree. Lightweight, powder-puff in the challenge, whether playing out of position or not, I wouldn't sign him.
Most of the time he couldn't hit a barn door in a gale.

He isn't a patch on Forrester, in my opinion.

Probably the best finisher at the club - not easy to find at this level. Would like to see him here permantely.
