All the preliminary dates for the new season have been set. There aren't many midweek matches planned at the moments with the exception of the cup games. City fans will be able to look forward to recovering from New Year's Eve as there isn't due to be any games played on that day.

ALL THE BELOW INFORMATION IS BASED ON THE PRELIMINARY DETAILS RELEASED BY THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE. 

The season will kick off on August 9th and the Imps will know their first league opponents on Monday 16th June when the fixture list is announced, although we will know who we will face in the Carling Cup on Friday 13th June. That Carling Cup game's default date at the moment is August 12th. The second round will take place exactly two weeks after that.

Regarding League fixtures, the midweek fixtures are currently scheduled to take place in the weeks starting October 20th, October 28th, November 24th, January 26th, February 2nd, March 2nd and March 9th.

The Christmas period is scheduled to see games on Saturday December 20th, Friday December 26th and Sunday December 28th. There is no New Year's Day fixture planned.

The international breaks in the Premiership and the Championship will take place on September 6th, October 11th and Saturday March 28th.
