The 2nd half began with City having a shot go just over after just 7 seconds from Gary Fletcher. The game was then disrupted when about 50 Huddersfield "fans" just charged at the Lincoln end which resulted in the Lincoln "fans" at the bottom of the same doing the same. The area suddenly became full of the florescent jackets of the police and stewards. The referee wisely stopped play until the trouble was over as he moved all players into the centre spot. This was the turning point in the game.

City then had a goal disallowed when a Gain cross was caught by the keeper only for Green to head it out of his hands as he was jumping at the same time. Liburd's overhead kick was disallowed for an apparant foul on the goalkeeper. It certainly appeared that it wasn't going to be City's day.

City finally drew level when a scramble on the edge of the 6 yard box saw Gary Fletcher (as he was known then) prod the ball over the keeper and sent Sincil Bank into delight. That delight was doubled 3 minutes later when Marcus Richardson shot from the edge of the area and send it past the goalkeeper following a header into his path.

Around 200 Huddersfield fans left at this point. They would have missed a penalty decision where a cross in the box hit Paul Morgan's arm. Andy Booth stepped up for the penalty and sent it to Marriott's right. Marriott also went right and saved the ball, he would only save one more penalty between then and the 2006/7 season.

It continued to go City's way all the way to the end and City could have made it 4, 5, 6, 7 or even 8 with the amount of chances we had but City settled for just one more. Yeo burst one on one with the keeper. His initial shot was parried but he followed up his shot with another and it nestled in the bottom left hand corner of the net and City had secured a victory.

I was hoping to run into that Huddersfield fan again outside of the ground but it just wasn't the case. The sides went on to meet in the Playoffs at the end of the season and we all know how that ended.

Since then Huddersfield have become an established League One side and will go into the new season as one of the favourites for promotion under Stan Ternant. Not one of the 16 in the Imps squad that day still plays for City.
