March was another month that City fans won't want to remember in a hurry, conceding four goals twice and a haul at five at Barnet. It was a month when players left Sincil Bank and others faced clubs who they almost left the Imps for, but March is certainly a forgettable month for all fans of the Imps.  

City started March with Peter Jackson's final home game before he left for treatment for throat cancer. It was a difficult looking home game against Wycombe Wanderers, but the visitors were poor and didn't manage to trouble the Imps' next once. The game was settled midway through the second half was Louis Dodds uncharacteristically produced a fine finish, hitting the net from 25 yards out to win the game. It was to be Dodds' final goal for the Imps.

Derek Dooley died in the week following and the Imps went to Chesterfield under the control of Iffy Onuora. City were spanked and it was little surprise that we found ourselves 2-0 down through goals from Leven and Lester. Ben Wright did pull one back just minutes before Lester made it 3-1 and the scoring was rounded off late on to complete a 4-1 mauling.

Games were coming thick and fast and next up was a trip to Notts County. The Imps were awful but a mistake from former Imp, Paul Mayo, allowed Jamie Forrester to smash the ball into the net and secure a RARE clean sheet for the Imps. However, a few days later and it was City's opposition that were keeping a clean sheet as Stockport secured all three points at Sincil Bank thanks to David Poole's strike.

The Ladies were destroyed 5-1 by Arsenal Ladies in the Women's FA Cup Semi Final. Just days later and Ollie Ryan finally left Sincil Bank. The youngster had always failed to deliver during his time at Sincil Bank and it came as little surprise that he left. He would eventually sign up for Boston United at the end of the season.

Then, in a season where we conceded goals for fun, no-one would have guessed that Barnet would score more goals against us than anyone. In a near exact reverse to the previous season's City found themselves 3-0 down at half time thanks to goals from Birchall, Adomah and Thomas. Birchall made it 4-0 within seconds of the restart before Porter made it 5-0 in the snow before Ben Wright eventually pulled two back for City.

A few days later and the Imps faced high-flying Hereford United. The Imps were down to 10 men when Scott Kerr was sent off, only for Dany N'Guessan to give the Imps the lead within a minute. Gary Hooper equalised just inside the second half before N'Guessan scored twice in a game for the first time in his City career, winning the game from the spot.

Next up and the Imps made their way to London Road for a game with Peterborough United, taking part in one of the most one-sided games in League Two history. Peterborough showed why they were on the verge of promotion as McLean and Rendell both scored braces as the Posh beat City 4-0, although the scoreline could have been so much more. That was the final incident in March.
