The ground of the Imps "main" rivals isn't exactly great but still suits the town very well. This ground was a division 1 ground until recently before two relegations in a row now sees them in the same division as the Imps
MATCH : LEAGUE CUP 1ST ROUND :GRIMSBY TOWN 2 LINCOLN CITY 1
DATE : Tuesday 21st August 2001
METHOD OF TRAVEL : Went on the train with a few friends who are rarely seen at Lincoln games these days.
THE GROUND : When you think of a ground that is in Division 1 (well it was at the time anyway), you think, cool, should be a really good, up to standard, decent looking ground with nice surroundings, then you get to Grimsby and you're greeted with a very dodgy colour scheme and the strong smell of fish aswell as very strong winds from the North Sea.
The stand away fans are in is a very decent size but in a similar way to Scunthorpe it is incredibly cramped and there are numerous pillars in the way. The stand to our left was like the stand at Doncaster with the obvious exception that there are few pillars and it's an all seater stand.
The stand behind the goal uses the same colour scheme as Darlington's Feethams in that it is black and white stripes whilst the final main stand is a generic 2/3 pitch length stand.
This isn't such a bad ground in all honesty but the random smattering of green, temporary stands spoils the ground a bit.
