The Imps are set to sign former Spurs and Orient midfielder, Ciaran Toner on a free transfer after impressing Keith Alexander in pre-season which included a massively impressive display in the friendly against Lincoln United last week.

Speaking to the Lincolnshire Echo, Keith revealed he has, or is set to offer the talented youngster a contract.

"I think Ciaran has done enough in his time with us for me to offer him a little bit of something, but whether that is what he is looking for remains to be seen."

So if Ciaran signs for the Imps, he becomes the 3rd player in as many years to be exchanged between Leyton Orient and Lincoln City. The first was Lee Thorpe who went pretty much straight after City went into administration two years ago. Thorpe's time at Orient was short but wasn't particully sweet and he is now at Bristol Rovers.

The 2nd switch was Gary Fletcher from Orient to City at the beginning of last season when Keith wanted to bolster the squad with a 20 goal a season striker after the first 3 league games ended all square. Fletch went onto score 18 goals and become the Imps' highest goalscorer in a single season since Gareth Ainsworth's 22 goal spree in the 1996/7 season.
