Cry me a river

Rushden and Diamonds manager Barry Hunter has proved less than gracious towards the Imps after seeing his side last night. Hunter described the Imps as playing "ugly football", obvious ignoring that Rushden weren't exactly Brazil themselves.

After the match, Hunter said the following "I thought it was a great performance up until then (Boughton's sending off), we were playing against a team that plays disgusting football; it makes me sick watching it. They just play for set pieces and its disgraceful football, I'm glad I don't have to see that for a while."

Which ugly football would that be? All 4 of ours goals were good football goals. The first a playing attack on the break passing along the ground. The 2nd, a free kick which the Rushden defence tried to HOOF (which they did a lot or didn't you see that Mr Hunter or did your blue and white tinted specs get in the way of that) which Futcher eventually headed in. The third was a good move down the left which saw the ball passed to McCombe who shot past Shearer without the ball leaving the ground in the build up. The first was a through ball that was neatly tucked away by GTF.

Hunter's reaction is amoungst the most "sore loser" responce that we've heard in a while so what are some of the other ones? Probably the best was ex-Southend manager, Rob Newman said they only lost because "our grass was too long" despite it being amoungst the shortest in the division and ironically, later on in the season, everyone was blaming their defeats at Sincil Bank because there was no grass on the Lincoln pitch. Some people are just never happy.
