Torquay striker, Alan Connell has spoken about his mixed afternoon. He scored the winner before two violent acts against him. Connell had scored the winner in the 62nd minute and in the 88th, he found himself the victim of a violent kick and having the ball kicked at him, whilst he was on the ground

Connell was attempting to shepard the ball out for a corner and succeded but was then the victim of a really unnessacery kicked from Imps' captain Morgan, who recieved a red card. Marriott was then soon given his marching orders when he kicked the ball as hard as he could at the prone body who Connell who was lying there in agony from the vicious kick.

Speaking to Torquay's website, he said

"The ball was heading out of play, and I tried to get around the defender (Paul Morgan) so gave him a tiny nudge. He lashed out and kicked me on the shin. It was painful to say the least."

"So as I went down and held my leg, the keeper (Alan Marriott) decided from no more than about five yards away to boot the ball as hard as he can at me. They're all moaning at me, and I'm thinking 'what have I done?' as I'd done nothing wrong."

"The ref was right there and saw it all, and he decided to give two red cards."

We here at theimps.tk are going to completely agree with the Torquay striker as the two most senior Imps' players acted like a pair of Sunday League players with their reactions and both have shot themselves in the foot. Marriott is banned for a minimum of 3 games, where Raynor has the unexpected chance to impress. Morgan's absence will mean a chance for any of the back up defenders as the club including Bloomer, Foster or possibly bringing Brown and Cryan back into the defence given another midfielder a chance of some action.
