Imps' captain, Paul Morgan has revealed that he has broken his foot and will be out of action until February at the earliest. The Northern Irish player has missed a lot of games this season due to 2 silly sending offs but Morgan is gutted about missing the most vital point of the season.

Many fans were wondering why he was missing from the team against Oxford, Boston and Grimsby, most assumed it was an injury but no-one was expecting something so severe and Morgan will no be out for at least 2 months.

He told the Echo : ""I'm not going to be available until February, at the earliest, and I'm now going to have to sit in the stands and watch, which I hate. I want to be on the pitch, giving the lads a helping hand because it's a really important time of the season. "There are a lot of games and I wanted to play my part. At least they have found what the problem is and it will be sorted out."

When asked how the injury happened, Morgan said : ""I went up for a header, came down, felt a sharp pain and thought I heard a noise. At first, I just thought it was bruising and I managed to continue playing. But it got to the stage where it was still troubling me and I missed the Oxford game a couple of weeks back. It wasn't getting better, so I had a scan and that revealed the break. I'm devastated and I can't wait to get back fit again.

Morgan has had a troubled season and easily his least impressive since joining the Imps from Preston North End in the summer before the 2001/2 season. When Alan Buckley left and Keith was left in charge, Morgan quickly became captain and established himself as one of the best players in the lower league, however, this season, injuries and 2 incredibly stupid sendings off have slightly knocked his reputation.
