The Carling Cup draw takes place tomorrow lunchtime and City will be hoping to repeat the exploits of the last 2 years. City are unseeded again in this season's draw meaning that we're guaranteed to face a league team from a higher division and a possible tie against former Premiership clubs.

The draw has been divided into the northern and southern sections again meaning that the Imps could face a trip to relegated Premiership side, Sunderland but the majority of Imps' fans will be hoping for a game against either Sheffield Wednesday or Nottingham Forest. Alternatively, City could easily been drawn to play Crewe Alexandra again, a tie that the men from Gresty Road definately won't want after City destroyed them 5-1 at Sincil Bank last season before the Imps were eliminated with a 5-4 defeat at Fulham.

Interestingly, Wolverhamption have been drawn in the Northern section despite obviously being a southern club. If City can draw a home game against one of the biggest clubs in the draw, it could potentially draw the Sky cameras to Sincil Bank again and if City get drawn at home to Sunderland, it could potentially be a repeat of the last time City sold out, against the then Premiership side.

City can draw any of the following sides

Sunderland, Preston North End, Leeds United, Wolves, Stoke City, Leicester City, Burnley, Hull City, Sheffield Wednesday, Barnsley, Crewe Alexandra, Huddersfield, Nottingham Forest, Doncaster Rovers, Oldham Athletic, Bradford City or Scunthorpe United.
