Dunstall 271-6 beat Alvaston & Boulton 127 by 144 runs

Dunstall were asked to bat first and took advantage of a good pitch to amass a huge score. Openers Jamie Benstead and his brother Matthew Benstead put on 90 for the first wicket, when Jamie was out for 43. Next man in Phil Simmons was dropped first ball when he edged a difficult catch off Steve Ottewell to wicket keeper Adam Barratt. He celebrated his good luck by hitting 24 runs off Ottewell?s next over, and had a further slice of luck when Darren Pooley failed to hold a return catch. Simmons and Matthew Benstead went on to score 114 for the second wicket and both were out for 73. For A&B Carl Beetge took 3-79.

Their reply started badly when they lost four wickets for 19 runs, but there was a partial recovery when Adris Azam and Adrian West put on 70 for the fifth wicket, West was out for 31 and Azam went on to score 51. A&B?s resistance was finally broken when occasional bowler Paul Shaw came on to take three quick wickets to see the innings collapse with five wickets falling for 10 runs

Sandiacre Town 271-7 beat Langley Mill 91 by 180 runs

Sandiacre Town are fighting back to regain the lead and will be cheered by the 27 points gained from this game. Langley Mill did themselves no favours when they turned up with one player short. Sandiacre piled on the runs, with good support from John Trueman (48), Chris Attwood (38), and Imi Ahmed (91). Simon Lacey did his best to stem the tide, taking 3-75, but the Millers? batting had an off day, with Sam Patel (38) the only player to show real resistance. For Sandiacre Naeem Akhtar took 4-24.

Quarndon 129 lost to Ockbrook 132-3 by 7 wickets

Quarndon were dismissed in 45 overs, with the only score of note coming from skipper Mark Tournier (44). The damage was done by Trevor Smith (5-38) and Alan Green (5-28). No problems here with the pitch as Ockbrook?s batsmen showed in racing to their target in a mere 18 overs, with Trevor Smith making 57 and Dave Wood 35 not out. For Quarndon Duncan Player took 3-17. One more win for Ockbrook taking their total wins to 12, and they are determined to hang on to the lead which is now reduced to 12 points.

Ilkeston Rutland 78 lost to Clifton 111 by 33 runs

Clifton?s batsmen found it tough going on a responsive pitch, but they battled their way into the final over for a very modest total. Ian Banks was Rutland?s most successful bowler, taking 5-31. Things didn?t get any easier when Rutland went in to bat and they never recovered from a bad start and were skittled out for the day?s lowest total. It was a good day for Clifton?s Ant Botha (4-12) and Liaqat Ali (5-41).

Sawley 227-6 beat Chesterfield 117 by 110 runs

This was a day when everything went well for Sawley, and the 27 point win will have eased their relegation worries. Dan Birch was the mainstay of their batting, scoring 90 not out and he received loyal support from Joe Greenhalgh (50). Apart from Adam Whiteley (35) Chesterfield?s batsmen were permanently on the back foot as they crawled to 117 off 47.5 overs against a rampant Sawley attack which saw skipper Neil Smith take 4-20 and Ahmed Gondal 4-33.

Wirksworth 118 lost to Denby 119-1 by 9 wickets

The outlook looks bleak for Wirksworth. They suffered their tenth loss in this game when they were clearly outplayed by Denby. Steven Lowe batted well enough for his 41, but there was little support. For Denby Michael Deane (6-69) turned in a good performance, as did Matt Ball (3-27). After losing an early wicket Nick Statham (58 not out) and Ian Parkin (41 not out) saw Denby comfortably home for their sixth win.
