West Hallam 141-1 beat Marehay 137 by 9 wickets

This was the result of the day. Marehay have been carrying all before them, but West Hallam gave them a taste of their own medicine. Apart from Adrian Vickerage, who made 53, the Marehay batting suffered at the hands of West Hallam's skipper Campbell Ogilvie who took 6-44. West Hallam's reply confirmed that there was nothing wrong with the pitch as they raced to their win,. Wes Essex was the only wicket to fall after he scored 46. His partner, James Chapman, went on to make55 not out and Andy Bowley was 37 not out.

Lullington Park 182-8 beat Morton 72 by 110 runs

This was a big win for Lullington who were indebted to Cricket Board coach Howard Dytham who scored 80 not out. There was a good spell from Nigel Mallender who took 4-33. Morton's batting failed badly and they had no answer to the bowling of Matt Holmes who took 3-24 and Daniel Gough who took 3-6.

Shipley Hall 240-7 dec beat Nutbrook 84 by 156 runs

Nutbrook have been showing improved form of late but they were given a drubbing by Shipley. Tom Bentley bowled well to take 3-25 in the Shipley innings, but the day belonged to Mark Starr (95) and Stefan Gamble (97). Then when Nutbrook batted they failed to master Simon Lacey who took 5-30, though there was some fight back from Richard Beer who made 30.

Selston Town 137-6 drew with Staveley Welfare 184-7

Staveley batted first and made a good score in the conditions. There were good knocks from Martin Camm (48), David Gray (34) and John Douglas (47 not out). For Selston Gary Staples took 3-41 and Ian Wood 3-66. Selston's reply fell behind the required run rate but they earned a comfortable draw. Chris Dunn made 40 and Paul Appleby was 40 not out. For Staveley Keith Mosley took 3-27.

Elvaston 185-7 v Spondon 155-8 No Result

A heavy shower late in the game caused this match to run out of time. Elvaston posted a good challenge in the conditions, with Andy Brear making 43. For Spondon Dean Vickers took 3-59. David Tainton took up the challenge but when he was out for 36 Spondon were in danger of losing with only two wickets left when the overs ran out.

Alfreton 175-6 lost to Aston on Trent 176-6 by 4 wickets

Alfreton's Ben Scheffer made 70 and Dean Whitmore 32 to give their side a decent score against Aston, for whom Azher Mahmood took 3-25. Shakeel Aslam made 30 in Aston's reply before Syed Faisal and J Akhtar got together in a seventh wicket partnership which saw them home, with Faisal 75 not out and Akhtar 32 not out. For Alfreton Dave Schofield took 3-40.

Allestree 145-9 lost to Duffield 146-3 by 7 wickets

This was Duffield's fourth win of the season and takes them nearer to the top of the Division. Edward Simms took 3-20 for Duffield and then Chris Elliott (59) and Phil Jordan (41 not out) steered their side to a convincing win.

Brailsford 151 lost to Ockbrook 2nds156-4 by 6 wickets

This defeat pushes Brailsford deeper into the relegation zone and keeps Ockbrook in touch with the top teams. Wayne Tunstall made 34 for Brailsford and for Ockbrook Neil Fowler took 5-42. Lindsey Morgan was in fine form for Ockbrook, hitting 72 not out. and with Raol Sharma making 40 they were home with something to spare. Pat Lawless took 3-28 for Brailsford.

Mickleover 148-8 beat Ticknall 79 by 69 runs

This was Ticknall's second defeat of the season and as a result they drop to second place. The hero for Mickleover was Robert Heath, the son of the skipper, who scored 55. Ticknall's batting failed as a result of good performances from Stuart Divers (3-15) and Steve Roome) 3-20.

Sandiacre Town 2nds152 drew with Denby 2nds 53-9

Sandiacre batted first and Ian Hopkins was again the mainstay of the side, scoring 64 against some tight bowling by Simon Mann (4-21) and Anil Bria (4-34) They were all out in 45 overs so Denby had 47 overs to get the runs. The pitch offered some help to the bowlers, but the Denby reply was a tedious affair. They batted the full 47 overs and were on the verge of defeat with nine wickets down but well short of their target. Ron Patel took 3-15 and Andy Marlow 3-9.

The game between Rolleston and Little Eaton was abandoned because of a water logged ground

Derbyshire Building Society Division 3A

Quarndon 2nds 210-7 lost to Alvaston & Boulton 2nds 211-1 by 9 wickets

There was some good batting in this game. Chris Sanders made 67 and Lee Gregory 55 for Quarndon, but there was also a good bowling performance from A&B's Omar Yusean who took 5-65. A second wicket partnership for A & B between Gary Smith (99 not out) and Tim Pope (75 not out) gave them a resounding win which stretches their lead at the top of the table.

Swarkestone 57-2 beat Ambergate 53 by 8 wickets

This win puts Swarkestone one place above Ambergate near the top of the division. Bruce Dilkes did the damage, taking 5-14 and Swarkestone had a very low total to negotiate.
