THE MAYOR OF DERBY’S CRICKET CHARITY COMPETITION

The Jackson Cup 1st Round

On Monday June 10th three of the outstanding games were played despite the very wet conditions.

Nutbrook 69-6 lost to Sawley 70-3 by 7 wickets
In the Nutbrook innings Sean Polley took 3-26 and in the Sawley innings Lewis Kirk took 3-20.

Ockbrook 72-6 beat Long Eaton 68-7 by 4 wickets
Long Eaton batted first and got into early difficulties which saw them reduced to 37-7. An eighth wicket partnership gave them a total to bowl at. It looked hopeful for Long Eaton as Ockbrook's wickets began to tumble. From 20-4 Ockbrook recovered mainly because of an innings by James Cokayne who made 32.

Alvaston & Boulton 123-7 lost to West Hallam 132-6 by nine runs
West Hallam batted first and got off to a good start, with James Chapman and Campbell Ogilvie compiling a century opening partnership. Chapman made 50 and Ogilvie 40. A&B almost made it, with Anthony Woolley scoring 52 and Adam Barratt 27, but it was West Hallam’s day, with Steve Attenborough taking 3-21
