Indeed Pascal Cygan is the only player who could answer to the description of senior professional.
Indeed Keegan, honest as ever, admitted that he thought the younsters were there for the taking by his seniors. Instead his kids had the burden of the seniors on their backs.
Earlier today I wrote "you have to fight hard these days at City to get something.Which is why I am not optimistic about our youngsters beating them tonight. Yes I know, before you hurl traitor at me, that our youngsters are great. Indeed they are, and most could fit into the first team with no problem. But what they do not get is the chance to play against top notch opposition every week as a team. So unless Keegan puts out a very weak team, or City have a serious off night our involvement in the Carling Cup may prove to be brief."
Well I proved to be wrong, I am glad that is the case. We mainly defended in the first half, but in the second half stepped up a gear. Indeed it was the substitute Owusu who began to switch the game. Persie and Karbassiyoon (Virginia USA)scored brilliant goals. Cygan captained so well that our usual nemisis Fowler did not manage to score his 200 th career goal until it was too late.
Now we face Everton at home, should be another great night for the kids.
