Cole Comitted to Cause – It’s the Uniteds

By Boris Mellor
February 1 2005

Wenger has stated that Ashley Cole is committed to the cause, he asked him if was committed to Arsenal and Cole replied he was. Wenger did not ask about the alleged meeting, he is not interested.

Nor does he intend to get into a war of words with Chelsea, the rules are the same for them as everyone else. Cole is contracted to Arsenal until 2007 and if anyone wants to buy him they can contact Arsenal directly "and they will get the answer they deserve". But reading between the lines and today's press reports Wenger clearly thinks the meeting happened. Not good preparation for the big game.

The FA Cup

So its United or United in the fifth round and at home, about time we had a cushy run. Over the last few years we have had Chelsea twice, Man U twice and Liverpool twice. We certainly earned our cup success, and a nice easy draw. Maybe we can keep it up until the final.

So who do you prefer West Ham or Sheffield United?

Wenger says it’s a must win game tomorrow.

My mate Brian in the pub said "its war". Sol Campbell (Monday Guardian) seems to agree with him. Alex says we are not in form – ha ha he must have missed the match against the Geordies. Well if he wants to give them a false sense of security that’s fine.

Pennant’s Getaway or the Curse of the Junior Gunners

In this months Arsenal magazine Junior Gunners section Pennant states that the last thing he bought was a Getaway computer game for the Playstation. Very appropriate.

Edu stays as Pennant goes

Quite ironic, as the press had a good laugh with Pennant stays, Edu goes. I hope they make us all laugh with Edu stays Pennant goes. Mind you I couldn't give a shite over either, they both belong in the past now. Edu did a little more with his talent, but the Brazil schedule made Arsenal his part-time occupation.

Oh the Preview?

Its all been said ad infinitum, can’t be bothered to add to it. Apparently a bloke from the FA is going to start the match with "Those who are about to die we salute you". He will also give a thumbs up or down signal on red card decisions. Cest la guerre. (Enough Gladitorial and War metaphors. Ed)

Pity Nick Didn't go to Galatasary

If he did I could have headlined "Old Nick Goes To Hell". What a tragically misled player he is turning out to be. I can imagine him getting plenty of sympathy when he goes into a sulk there. He will spend most of his wages on club fines. I was watching 501 Goals last night, he scored some beauties. What a waste.
