Passers by at The Home Of Football this morning were surprised to see queues outside the marble halls. There are usually no ticket sales after June 1st. That was the last day for renewing season ticket.
So what were they queuing for? Simple they were queuing to jump the queue. The queue for season tickets that is. Arsenal were selling the first flats that will be available at Ashburton Grove. Buy a flat, starting from £250,000, next to the new stadium and you get the right to jump to the top of the season ticket queue.
However it was not made clear if the ticket was a freebie or had to be paid for. But these finer details didn't seem to bother the first 150 who have put a down payment on a flat.
The club has promised not to charge for the smell of police horse shit and frying onions. That evocative aroma is thrown in for free. Meanwhile more fans who have paid to be on the waiting list have just moved a bit further to the back of the queue.
