Finally! some valuable and concrete information on the state of our club, if by placing the club into administration it allows a new beginning, then Im all for it.
To those who have criticised this board and labelled it doom and gloom, they must possess skin as thick as a rhinos.
Throughout the last 8 months I have been extremely worried and concerned for the welfare of our club. I have openly confessed my feeling on this board and to those who would listen, and I am not ashamed to admit it. By placing the club into administration Mr Green has confirmed that I and others were indeed accurate, I personally feel vindicated and satisfied, like it or not I and others were speaking the truth all along.
Nonetheless, now is the time that all fractions within and outside the club come together as one.The journey will not be easy, there are undoubtedly plenty of obstacles ahead but they are not insurmountable, they can be tackled and conquered if we work together.
Admittedly there are some deep scars, but they can be healed, it just takes fortitude and a little humanity, and in my opinion this must start from the top with Mr Green.
For the sake of Coventry Rugby Club now is the time to bury the hatchet, let bygones be bygones and let’s move our beloved club forward together or suffer the consequences.
as you say andrew has been given a clean slate and like any other person he has now a second crack at the whip,as the caretaker of coventry rugby club he now has an opportunity as the third owner during proffessional rugby era to finally move forward in many areas.
Mr Green and everyone else associated with our beloved club have this chance of a fresh start, but it must begin from the top with Mr Green and his associates. In spite of everything only they possess the power to either bring this club together or leave it fragmented.
So ladies and gentlemen please take this opportunity and not waste it. For now is not the hour to be an autocratic leader, now is the hour to be a courageous leader, a leader that embodies strength and wisdom, a leader that symbolises truth and honesty and will make the right decisions that will bring this great club together and not for personal gratification.
I implore that the chest beating must stop, this is a new era for Coventry Rugby Club, an opportunity to correct the wrongs of the past and to focus all our energy on the future.
I honestly believe that if we stand united we will overcome anything that may come our way; I also believe that if we stay divided we will fall.
So as Bigm rightly said what happens to the creditors of the "old club". Highly unlikely that they are going to get whats owed to them in full. At least 2 of the creditors are owed money whilst employed under Mr Green with Mr Green making all the decisions, nothing at all to do with the "previous regime" So if hes true to his word and such a great leader for this proud and historic club lets just hope he finally does the right thing and pay HIS debts for HIS actions that he chose to take. That what any decent person would do. Wouldnt they? Then we all can move on let bygones be bygones on and continue to support the team of Coventry Rugby.
Im afraid that decision will rest with the administrators of the club. They alone have the power of attorney to the distribution of monies to the creditors, but from my experience I would not hold my breath. It looks like Dick Turpin has done a runner.
I hear exctytly what you say but I am not sure thats very comforting for the 2 families that are waitng and relying on that money to possibly pay legal costs and even maybe keep a roof over their heads. Money which they are legally entilted to. But as long as the club keeps trading and the team keep playing thats the most important thing... isnt it???!!!
The reason why I know about administration is due to the fact that I am a victim of such reality, where my pension fund in excess of 190,000 was lost or as I like to put it stolen from me. And I thought (naively) that pensions were untouchable after the Rupert Murdock incident of the 1980s. But Im afraid this is the case, I really hope that all the creditors fair better than I did.
In respect to Dave roach intial comments it comes as no surpise what has had to be done.I could say a lot more but laws of libel preclude me.
The delay in giving out information was due to negotiations between the 3 interested parties, namely the juciacary,The RFU,and National Division 1 Rugby. This had to be concluded before the staff and players were told, and then at the same time as the press release, certain representatives from supporters groups, who were briefed fully at 5pm last friday.
No earlier announcement could be made for legal reasons.
I would point out that Mr green has confirmed his continued presence and support for the club.Interesting to note that the new club has received more support from the RFU,Judiacry and ND! than certain supporters of the club.
