Pain struck in the second half in between an Adam Canning penalty, securing a 3-0 lead at half-time, and an Alex Stajka drop goal as Leams denied their Coventry rivals a third title. n OCs COVENTRY came from 17-7 down to beat Worcester 20-17 in the Midlands final of the National Under-17s Cup and qualify for the overall semi-finals on April 20.

Lee Chapman kicked the winning penalty from close to 40 metres to add to an earlier try and conversion, with further tries from Earl Collins and Jordan Diston. Nuneaton went down 25-5 to Syston in the final of the Plate competition. n OLD COVENTRIANS kept their Midlands Three West (South) promotion hopes alive with a 27-9 home win over Southam.

With Spartans confirmed as champions, OCs now trail Ledbury on points difference in the battle to secure the promotion play-off spot. Both have two games to play.

n OLD WHEATLEYANS are staging a memorial game for popular player David Haigh, who died recently from cancer at the age of 40, on Saturday, April 19 (2.15pm) at their Norman Place Road ground.
