Yorkshire really needing a win in tonight's encounter did themselves no early favours, being 22 for 3 and then with only 50 runs on the board at the halfway point. Gale (50 off 40) and McGrath (32 off 27)steadied the ship seeing Yorkshire to a total of 159. Notts replied in assertive manner. Nottinghamshire cruised to victory thanks largely to Stephen Flemmings innings. He was ably supported by opening partner Swann (32 off 17), Patel (43 off 36) and Hussey (21 off 10).

Yorkshire's bowling once again failed to contain the aggressive Nottinghamshire batsmen with only Richard Dawson showing any sort of control.

Yorkshire now find themselves in need of a run in this competition if they are going to lose the tag of Twenty20 under achievers. Two wins from four games leaves them mid table and only a win at Lancashire on Friday will keep hopes of qualification for the quarter finals alive.
