Poll Question: Should all Yorkshire games be played at Headingley? Results: Yes - 17%, No - 83%. We had 18 voters and the result has been strongly in favour of playing some of Yorkshire's home games away from Headingley.
Some Yorkshire fans, particularly those based in the Leeds area would like to see the Headingley Stadium used for all matches. At the moment Yorkshire play some of the fixtures at Scarborough and other home grounds have been used in the past.
There is a worry among other Yorkshire fans that the Scarborough Festival may become a thing of the past when the Headingley ground undergoes modernisation in the next few years at a cost of well over 10 million pounds. That money has to be raised from somewhere and by playing more matches at Headingley is a possible way to increase gate receipts.
The poll though has shown the reaction of the Yorkshire fans that read this site. 83% want to see games played at grounds other than Headingley during the course of the season.
Thank you for voting - a new poll has now been started and will run over the next couple of weeks.
