Yorkshire win against Nottts by 68 runs

Yorkshire set Notts 282 to win on day 4 at Headingley. The match seemed destined to go to the wire until the Lawson and Rashid show roared into town again. Lawson finsihed with 4-85 and Rashid took 3-74. Hussey led the resistance with an undefeated 86. Yorkshire had set Nottinghamshire 282 to win after Michael Lumb's unbeaten 84 in the morning.

Jason Gillespie struck in the first over before Notts had scored, but the visitors progressed to a promising 172 for 4 before Deon Kruis removed Graeme Swann and Mark Ealham on the same score. The tail then folded to Rashid and Lawson, despite a second valiant innings from David Hussey who followed his 119 from yesterday with an unbeaten 86.

The results leaves Yorkshire second from bottom in the table only half a point behind Durham who they entertain at Headingley next week. This means that a draw may prevent the Tykes relegation as long as they secure more bonus points than Durham in that match.
