Michael Vaughan has signed a contract which will see him play cricket for Yorkshire until he retires. Vaughan may have been born across the Penines but has always known where the better part of the north lies. Vaughan has signed a rolling contract with Yorkshire which will come into full effect when he finishes playing international cricket and his central contract expires. Vaughan is thrilled to have pledged his future to the county saying "I have played for Yorkshire since the age of 16 and am delighted to be signing a new contract which gives me the flexibility to remain with the county whilst ever I can play first-class cricket".

Stewart Regan, Yorkshire's Chief Executive added "Yorkshire County Cricket Club fully support Michael's efforts to return to first-class cricket following surgery on his knee earlier this year. He is determined to be fit as soon as possible and is very focused on what needs to be done to make this happen. We fully expect Michael to recover from his operation and are putting our faith in him with a new contract which will kick-in once he leaves the England team. We look forward to having him at Yorkshire for the rest of his first-class career."
