The man whose surname everyone seems to pronounce differently, Deon joined Yorkshire in 2005 as a Kolpak player. He took 64 wickets in his first season with the club and as the leading wicket taker became the 2005 Yorkshire Player of the Year. He was leading wicket taker again in 2006.
