Positions 7 and 8 in the Yorkshire Cricket Hall of Fame have been awarded to Hedley Verity and Herbert Sutcliffe. In a record poll on this site these two cricketing greats have been elected to join Trueman, Boycott, Hutton, Illingworth, Lehmann and Rhodes in the The Corridor's Hall of Fame. The vote was neck and neck between Verity and Sutcliffe throughout the poll with Verity just winning the day for 7th spot.

The number of votes cast has been the most in any poll held on this site - thank you for taking the time. The top ten in the vote are shown below: -

Hedley Verity 22%
Herbert Sutcliffe 21%
George H Hirst 11%
Dickie Bird 10%
Brian Close 9%
Darren Gough 9%
Lord Hawke 4%
Maurice Leyland 3%
Johnny Wardle 3%
Jimmy Binks 2%

There will be another vote on the site in a month or two - please feel free to nominate the people you think have done the most to further the name of Yorkshire cricket. This can be done on the message board below and we will put all nominations up for the public vote to elect Hall of Fame numbers 9 and 10 in the month of July 2007.
