Morgan to Lead T20 Charge
By Michael Norwood
September 23 2019

Eoin Morgan looks set to lead England into the World T20 in Australia next year, after being confirmed in the squad for the five match series with New Zealand next month.

it was feared that Morgan's back trouble would mean he called a halt to leading the national side, but we might just be seeing one more year from our world cup winning captain.

Jonny Bairstow will open for the side, despite losing his test place in the two match series in the same country, and he is likely to be joined at the tope of the order by Dawid Malan, who had a fine T20 season for Middlesex.

There is still no recall for opener Alex Hales, after his famous dumping ahead of the World Cup, although at the time we didn't know if he would still be available for the T20 squad, this answers that question.

It is a very inexeperienced looking side, and one that we definately change for the main event next year, although we are delighted to see Worcestershire's Pat Brown get a chance, after he once again impressed on finals day last weekend.

England squad: Eoin Morgan (Middlesex) captain, Jonny Bairstow (Yorkshire), Tom Banton (Somerset), Sam Billings (Kent), Pat Brown (Worcestershire), Sam Curran (Surrey), Tom Curran (Surrey), Joe Denly (Kent), Lewis Gregory (Somerset), Chris Jordan (Sussex), Saqib Mahmood (Lancashire), Dawid Malan (Middlesex), Matt Parkinson (Lancashire), Adil Rashid (Yorkshire), James Vince (Hampshire).
