Essex and England's Ronnie Irani has deservedly kept his place in the one-day squad to go to Australia for The VB Series in December this year.

Ronnie In One-Day Squad

Ronnie and six others, Paul Collingwood, Craig White, Ian Blackwell, Owais Shah, Jeremy Snape and Nick Knight have been named as England's one-day specialists for The VB Series tournament in December, with the others being made up of players already on The Ashes. The other names will be named at a later date, nearer the time of the tournament.

The Essex captain certainly deserves his place in the side and since being called back into the England squad has failed to disappoint. He has made valuable contributions with bat, ball and in the field and none more notably than when he achieved career best batting and bowling in one-day internationals in the same match against India during the summer. Of course, that famous match at The AMP Oval.

His enthusiasm that has he has shown to lead Essex to a Cup Final, a Championship trophy and two league promotions has rubbed off his on England performances and he is currently in the best form of his life, showing why he is highly regarded again amongst England's all-rounders.

The VB Series starts on Friday 13th December, so tune into Sky Sports to follow the side and support Ronnie.

So well done Ronnie from 'Scimitars' on your place in the squad to tour Australia. He certainly deserves it.
