Day 1 started with yet another loss toss for Nasser, but not actually turning out that bad, as New Zealand's captain Stephen Fleming unbelievably somewhat decided to bat first on what looked a green wicket that would assist the seamers.
And it did just that, with New Zealand slumping to 19-4, then 86-5, Caddick taking four of those to reach his milestone of 200 Test wickets. Well done to him and let's hope Nasser can reach his milestone of 4,000 Test runs with 78 or more in this match, if he gets the chance.

It was a quiet day for Fossy behind the stumps, conceeding no byes, but having no chances to take either, though what he did do, he did well. However, Fossy looked uncomfortable taking a couple of balls and it seems as if he's got a sore left hand. I'm not sure how it has come about, but let's hope Fossy recovers ok and keeps performly admirably.
Nass made a couple of good stops in the slips, but also his day personally was quiet, except, of course, having to make decisions in the field.

Thanks to an unbeaten 55 from seasonal campaigner Chris Harris, New Zealand recovered very well ro reach 151-5, before bad light cut short the day's play.

But even worse happened on day 2, as heavy rain meant a saturated outfield and no possible chance of any play. This will suite England the most, with us 1-0 up in the series, though I'm sure the boys want some play to finish the job off and give something to Ben Hollioake after his tragic death.
They did get onto the field, though it was in the form of playing rugby to keep the spirits and fitness levels up.

When play resumes, the England players will hold a minutes silence in respect of the passing of The Queen Mother. 'Scimitars' would also like to pay its respects to the Royal Family at this time.
