Essex beat Kent easily today by 5 wickets in an entertaining one-day friendly at Chelmsford. The new sigings had a good day, with James Middlesbrook taking 3-34 with the ball and Jon Dakin and Aftab Habib making 78 and 75 Not Out respectively with the bat.
