The ECB have decided to allow Steve Harmison to play for Durham in the one day match with Sussex on Monday. Previously the ECB had only released Harmy for championship games and for the C&G first round game on Wednesday. The addition of Harmison to the one day squad will give the Durham selectors even more of a headache than they already have with the competition for places being very high.

The squad to take on the Scotland Saltires on Sunday was named today - it consists of the eleven that played in last Sundays match with the addition of Neil Killeen. The bowling places will be taken by four of: Breese, Plunkett, Davies, Lewis and Killeen.

Plunkett, Davies and Lewis have all bowled impressively already this season so again, it is difficult to see who would miss out to give Killeen an outing. Then to add Harmy to the equation for the bank holiday game against Sussex will make the choice even more difficult.

Having said all that - it is a great problem to have and highlights that for once we do have great strength in depth in the squad.

Harmison will be available for two more County Championship games before his participation with the Englad squad begins on 20th May in preparation for the first test against Bangladesh. The two games he will be available for are the match against Somerset at Stockton beginning on the 6th May and the match against Lancashire at Old Trafford on the 11th.
