MoTM Quins Away

I travelled to the stoop courtesy of the Saints Supporters coach with a hope that this could be the game where we turned round our appalling away form. The Stoop has changed somewhat since my last visit. There are now two good stands at the sides and two cheap, but covered, stands at the end.

Question: Can you pick a Stand out player from the drivel that was Saints away at Quins?
Whilst cheap they are still a significant upgrade on the old south stand which now adorns the brickfield at Plymouth.The Stoop is now a great ground and something that the Quins can be proud of.  There are a couple of other things they can be rightly proud of - which are, in no particular order, the post match entertainment/atmosphere and the side that Deano is putting together.  As a side that suffered from relegation a couple of seasons before we did they are good role models.

So to the Saints!  Well I might have travelled in hope of an away team - but the team had other ideas, or rather they were devoid of ideas all afternoon.  I have not seen such a witless, gutless, leaden footed, passionless display since the worst days of the relegation season.  I don't know what happened but please let's not have that again.  We were second best in every department.  Well I am not sure we were as good as second best.  Not much more to say really.

So who caught the eye?
Jurandre Kruger received just under 10% of the votes.  Jurandre is making a name for himself in the second row and could turn out to be a very wise signing for us.

In second place, and just failing to win his third MoTM in a row was Soane Tonga'uiha.  Tiny is really fulfilling his potential and not only is he dynamic around the park - he is also more than capable against most front row opponents.  Tiny got 19%.

The clear winner however was Saints very own pocket dynamo.  Yes Paul Diggin picked up his sixth MoTM of the season.  Paul, playing for his home town club, always played with passion - this season however has brought an edge to his game that many thought was beyond him.  I do not know if he has been modelling himself on Shane Who for his running lines and the devil himself for his tackling.  Paul certainly punches above his weight in the tackle.  When you are small you need good technique and Paul has that in spades.  Paul now moves 2.5 wins ahead of his nearest rival Roger Wilson.

There were not  a vast number of votes this week.  It was hard to be motivated to pick a winner when the fare was so dire.  My thanks to those of you who did take the time to vote - and even more thanks to those who plough through this each week.

Dunno about the MOTM my vote goes/went to Digger. But HEY! St Tim way to go with the graphics old sport!! Must have taken ages well done thank you! Swankily impressive.

I'm glad the apres-ski at Quins was worth waiting for. Frankly, I couldn't wait to get out of the Stoopid place.

However, I guess that's what attracts the Sequins to go there - much more than the game!

Saints were bad, but not quite as grim as in the relegation season. We defended well for much of the game, or the result would have been a cricket score!!

Digger and Big Rog deserve their places at the top of your (super) graph.

Well done Tim, as usual. Digger wins showing imo that more often than not the supporters rally to bravery and determination more than any other qualities. Digger has both in bucket loads.

These were real Cheerleaders - courtesy of the NFL. Not the sort occasionally seen at Sarries and Bath. Surprised you missed them Howlin.
