Surrey beat Nottinghamshire by an innings and six runs to move second in the county championship table. Surrey bowled Nottinghamshire out for just 211 in their first innings. Captain Jason Gallian carried his bat through the innings with 112. While James Ormond clamed 5 wickets. Surrey then replied with 393 all out. Alec Stewart made 98. While Azhar Mahmood also made 98 off just 95 balls. Mark Ramprakash, Saqlain Mushtaq, Adam Hollioake, Alex Tudor and Martin Bicknell all chipped with useful scores. Surrey then bowled Nottinghamshire out for just 176. Steve Elworthy top scored with 54. Martin Bicknell took 5 wickets. With James Ormond taking 3 wickets and Mahmood taking 2 wickets. Surrey are now second in the county championship.
