Surrey and Cambridge drew in their fribndly match at Fenner's today. Surrey youngstars Rikki Clarke and Michael Carberry both hit centuries in the match. Surrey and Cambridge draw their friendly match at Fenner’s today.

Surrey batted first and made a huge 402 for 4 declared, With Rikki Clarke making 107 not out on his first class debut for Surrey and Mark Ramprakash continuing his brilliant form with 120.

Surrey then bowled out the university side for 218. Tim Murtagh took the most wickets for Surrey with 3 and Rupish Amin and Phil Sampson both took 2.

Surrey captain Ian Ward did not inforce the follow on, as he wanted his side to get batting practice. But soon his side were in trouble as they slipped too 34 for 2 but Michael Carberry hit his first ton for Surrey to put Wards side in control. Ward decided to declare on 322 for 6 with Carberry reaming unbeaten on 156 and Phil Sampson made a useful score of 42.

There was little time for Cambridge to bat but Surrey did manage to take five wickets. Ed Giddens took 3, before the match was called a draw with Cambridge finishing on 96 for 5.
