Surrey have released former England international bowler Alex Tudor with a year remaining on his contract. Tudor had been at Surrey for 10 years however he has been struggling with a side injury this season, which limited him to one championship match this season. Surrey chief executive Paul Sheldon said, “Alex has been a wonderful servant to the club over the past 10 seasons and we wish him the best”.

Tudor was sad to leave the club but he is hoping to be fit enough to continue has career at another club.

Tudor Said “I have recently seen a specialist who has diagnosed my injury and we are both confident that I can regain my fitness in the next six months.”

Tudor played 67 first class matches for Surrey, scoring 1543 runs and taking 211 wickets.

It is also removed that Saqlain Mushtaq will not be offered a new contact after struggling with injury this season. Spinner Ian Salisbury, paceman Phil Sampson and opener Richard Clinton are also set to be offloaded.
