Surrey claimed only their second tote sport league victory of the season as they beat Kent by 4 wickets at Canterbury. Mark Ramprakash hit 66 and Adam Hollioake scored 41 not out as the lions reached their target with 2 balls to spare in a reduced overs match.

Surrey won the toss and decided to bowl in a match reduced to 34 overs because of rain. Former Surrey batsmen Michael Carberry then fell on the first ball of the innings, when he was caught behind of Azhar Mahmood. Smith and Louden then added 83 for the second wicket. When Louden fell to Ormond for 31, Kent encountered a mini collapse and slipped to 109 for 4. Phil Sampson the captured the key wicket of Smith for 61 to leave Kent struggling at 118 for 5. David Fulton and Geriant Jones both hit scores in the twenties to help the spitfires reach a respectable total of 193 from their reduced amount of 34 overs.

Martin Saggers then removed Ali Brown on the first ball of the innings and shortly after James Benning for 6. When Rikki Clarke fell to Ian Butler for 8, the lions were struggling at 45 for 3. Mark Ramprakash and captain John Batty then added 57 to take the score on to 122. Batty then fell to Khan for 28 and just 13 runs later Khan removed Ramprakash for a vital 66. With the score on 152, Azhar Mahmood fell and the lions looked in trouble. However 41 not out from Adam Hollioake guided Surrey to a much needed victory. Alex Tudor also hit 17 not out on his return from injury.
