Chris Adams struck 110 not out as Sussex beat Surrey in the day night match at Hove. Surrey looked to have secured victory as the Sussex middle collapsed but Adams led his team to a dramatic victory as they won on the last ball. Surrey won the toss and decided to bat, but they did not have a good start as
Benning, Batty and Butcher all fell cheaply. This left the lions 40 for 3.
Ramprakash and Brown steadied the innings with a partnership of 75. Ramprakash made 38, while Brown top scored for Surrey with 49. Rikki Clarke, on his return from injury, made 45 as he shared in a 63 stand with Stuart Walters. He scored 32 not out and Azhar Mahmood hit 22 not out as the lions reached 230 for 6.

Azhar gave Surrey the perfect start as he removed Montgomerie for 0, in the first over of the Sussex innings. Prior and Adams shared in a stand of 90. Prior made 42 as this proved to be the second top score of the innings.
Adams then added 60 with Goodwin, who made 25. Surrey came back and looked to have sealed a win as Sussex collapsed from 151 for 2 to 207 for 7. However Adams guided Sussex home with an unbeaten 110. Sussex required 11 to win from the final over and they sealed a two wicket victory of the last ball.
