Surrey now need to beat rivals Middlesex of they are to avoid relegation after a draw against Warwickshire at Edgbaston. Surrey are 15 points behind their rivals after Mark Ramprakash scored 126 to secure a draw for the lions.

Day One

Day 2

Surrey made 225 for 9, with Rikki Clarke top scoring with 63. Mahmood, Murtagh and Saqlain Mushtaq all hit useful scores as Surrey recovered 128 for 6.

Day Three

Surrey were bowled out for 225 as they failed to add any runs to their overnight score. This means they only took one batting point. Nick Night made 117 as Warwickshire made 338 from just 86.5 overs. Louden and Powell also impressed as the both hit 60. Saqlain Mustaq took 4 wickets as he showed Surrey fans that he is still a quality spinner.

Day Four

Surrey resumed on 45 for 1 with Butcher and nights watchman Saqlain Mushtaq at the crease. However they were both fell early on, which left the lions 70 for 3 and in danger of defeat.Ramprakash and Clarke added a crucial stand of 93. Clarke made 45, when he was caught but Westwood with Brown the bowler. Ramprakash was then joined by Batty and together they added 150. Batty made 76 not out, while Ramprakash made 126. Surrey declared on 313 for 5, leaving Warwickshire a target of 201 from 14 overs. The game was finally called a draw with Warwickshire for no wicket.
