Azhar Mahmood stared as Surrey best Glamorgan in the C and G trophy by 68 runs at the Brit Oval. Mahmood hit 101 not out, and then he took 4 for 17 as the Glamorgan slumped to 132 all out.

Surrey had a bad start as they were reduced to 37 for 5. Clarke was nest to go for 18 as Surrey were left 64 for 6. Mahmood and Salisbury then added 53 for the seventh wicket. Mahmood was then joined by Murtagh and they added another useful stand of 37. Mahmood was also helped out by Mo Akram as they added 32. Mahmood reached his century from just 98 balls, which included nine fours and four sixes. Dernbach was the last man to go as Surrey were bowled out for 200.

Azhar Mahmood then picked up from where he left as he removed both Glamorgan openers cheaply, which left the dragons 27 for 2. Mo Akram then got in on the act as he took the wickets of Hemp, Powell and Grant. When Muratgh took the next wicket of Wallace, Glamorgan were left 53 for 6. Cosgrove and Franklin then produced the biggest partnership of the match with 64. Cosgrove fell for 49 to Salisbury, who also removed Franklin for 26, Mahmood took the final two wickets to wrap up an easy victory, as Surrey won by 68 runs.
