By popular demand, Comebackgatt is running his fantasy cricket league again this year for Division 2 of the CC. Lots to think about between now and the submission deadline, which is 15 April. Many thanks to CBG for running this game for us.
WELCOME TO THE MTWD FANTASY CRICKET LEAGUE 2009
Results will be based on C.C Div Two matches only.
Selecting your team
Each team should comprise of the following: 6 batsmen, 1 wicket keeper and 4 bowlers, but only one overseas player allowed. To be selected from the list of players printed below. On that list I have included most of the Middlesex playing staff, but only a selection from each of the other counties. This is to make things easier (particularly for me). I have also allocated a star rating to each player, (5-1) based on their performances in the 2008 season.
Selection Rules
You make select no more than three Middlesex Players and no more than two players from each of the other counties. The total star rating of your team must not total more than…40 pts The eleven players you pick remain your selection until the “transfer window” in the middle of June when you may make up to four transfers. No replacement for players arriving late will be allowed this season. However, at the time of the “transfer window” there will be a list of new players to cover those joining counties after the following was printed.
POINTS
BATTING: 1 pt for every ten runs scored, bonus of five for getting a century
BOWLING: 5 pts for each wicket taken, 5 bonus points for taking five wickets in an innings. 1 pt deducted for each 10 runs conceded.
FIELDING : 1 point for each catch taken, 3 points for each stumping.

Ged informs me that he has been subjected to a legal challenge, akin to the Formula One case that suggests that Jenson Button's big end is too big. I shall not comment on Ged's big end, but he has asked me to request a swap from Ackerman to Dippenaar, which should resolve Ged's problem with sums.
Can I please replace him with Tim Murtagh (5)?

First indications showed that in fact the board's moderators do know a bit about the game with all three in the top five!! Last season's winner is at the bottom, and yes Diamond you are below that darn rabbit again.
With very little CC cricket during May the next update will be in the middle of the month when I will also list all the teams so you know what you are up against.

More by luck than judgement in my case. Can't speak for the others. Interesting to see last year's champion bringing up the rear so far.
