England all rounder Tim Bresnan is out of England's test tour to New Zealand which starts in March, and has been replaced by Chris Woakes, who get's his first chance at the longer format of the game, in international colours...
Bresnan has an elbow injury which means he will stay at home to have the problem looked at.
Eoin Morgan and Samit Patel, have been left out of the touring party, despite being part of the 2-1 winning side, which triumphed in Inida, prior to Christmas.

The person to gain most, is youngster Joe Root, who is elevated from captaining the lions squad, to a place in the test touring squad, and is most likely to occupy the number six batting slot.
