Watch: Ian Bell's Century in Queenstown Warm Up

Ian Bell struck a superb century to start England's preperations ahead of the three test match series with New Zealand. Against a NZ XI, Bell was at his very best, as he showed that he still has the form following his century in the last test in India before Christmas.....

Alastair Cook hit a solid 60, whilst there were also good contributions from Joe Root and Matt Prior.

England opted to play both Chris Woakes and Graham Onions in the game, resting James Anderson and Steve Finn.

Whilst it is thought that Stuart Broad will make up the third fast bowler for the opening test match, a decent performance from either Woakes or Onions, will surely make the Nottinghamshire paceman nervous about his starting place.
