Adelaide Pitch May Spin

With Australia announcing an unchanged side from the mauling in Brisbane, all eyes are now turned to England, and will they play two spinners in Adelaide, on a drop in wicket.......

Damien Hugh, the head groundsman at the Adelaide Oval, could of course be adding to the media hype surrounding this Ashes series when he said this week

"We are trying to produce a typical Adelaide Oval pitch, something that will be good to bat on and something that will hopefully spin as the game goes on."

"We think it's pretty close to what we have had in previous years. It might be a little bit slower this year, being brand new." he concluded.

The reason that a drop in pitch is being used for the first ever time at the ground, is the development work in turning what was once a beautiful cricket ground, into yet another Aussie concrete bowl, to rival the MCG and Sydney Cricket Ground, which are more suited to AFL action these days.
