Strauss Still Searching For Runs

Two failures in Middlesex's county championship match with Durham, has piled more pressure on England captain Andrew Strauss ahead of the international summer with the West Indies and South Africa....

Strauss, who has not hit three figures in England colours since November 2010, in the drawn Ashes test in Brisbane, was hoping for some time in the middle for his county, Middlesex.

Graham Onions was the man inflicting more pain on the England skipper, when he bowled him for just six in Struass's second innings at Lord's. It followed a second ball duck on friday, and now Strauss must hope of a good knock before the critics start rounding on him again for his poor scores.

It was in Colombo in the final test of the winter for England, where Strauss passed the half century mark, to at least give him some breathing space, but he knows that with the big test of South Africa coming late in the summer, a big score in the West Indies series, will put all talk of his batting to bed.
