Despite some more West Indian resistance, England were able to be clinical enough on the fourth day at Trent Bridge to wrap up a series win.....

After resuming on 61-6 going into the penultimate day, the tourists took their three run fragile lead up to 107, thanks largely to Marlon Samuels who hit an unbeaten 76, but no one was able to support the impressive middle order batsman long enough to give England something to worry about heading into the run chase.

Ultimately, it was the last session on Day 3 that proved to be the West Indies undoing, when Tim Bresnan snatched those late wickets.

England were able to knock off the runs needed for victory, with captain Andrew Strauss (45) and Alastair Cook (43no) leading the charge over the finish line.

Strauss is certainly bang in form now, following his century in England's first innings, whilst Bresnan did enough with both bat and ball to suggest he has plenty to offer in these conditions.

The yorkshireman finished with 4-37 in the West Indies 2nd innings, to go alongside his four wickets in the opening innings of the match.

The fragile batting at the top of the West Indies card is a worry for the visitors, with only the middle order offering up any sort of hope that they could cause England any real longer problems.

England captain Strauss was once again keen to stress that his side had to work had for the victory. "West Indies played some really good cricket but thankfully we were able to show a little bit more consistency and I'm delighted to have won the series,"

"There were positions at Lord's where we could have gone really big in our first innings but weren't able to do that, and the same again here."
