England should have both Graeme Swann and Tim Bresnan fully fit for the series opener with South Africa at the Oval, which starts in just a weeks time....

Bresnan was rested for the final one day international with Australia at Old Trafford, with coach Andy Flower keen to give as much time for the Yorkshireman enough time to be raring to go ahead of the anticipated bowler shoot out with the South Africans.

Swann meanwhile, is a concern. He has been treated with cortisone injections on a troublesome elbow, and missed the second part of the 4-0 ODI series win over Australia.

It is thought, that the process will see him through the three test series with South Africa, where he can then be re-assessed ahead of another busy winter.

Swann is key to England playing just four bowlers in the upcoming series, with Steve Finn itching at the leash to bully his way into the line up, but it is thought that Bresnan will get the nod for the opening bout.

It all get's underway at the Oval on Thursday 19th July!
