New England call up James Taylor is looking forward to getting his big chance on the International stage, should the chance arise of him batting in the second test with South Africa at Headingley later this week....

Nottinghamshire's Taylor has been called into the England squad for the second test, at the expense of Essex's Ravi Bopara, who has been left out due to 'personal' reasons.

Fresh from scoring an unbeatean 163 for his county in their recent championship match with Sussex, Taylor said of the call up

''I hoped that I would be next in line but I never took anything for granted" he told Telgraph Sport.

''Playing at Headingley would be a very proud moment for me but nothing has happened yet, I'm just one step closer and waiting for the nod and the opportunity to help England to get back into the series." He went on.

It is likely that Taylor will come in to face South Africa, although there is still the possibility that England could go into the game with five bowlers, given they only took two wickets throughout the Oval Test Match.
