England star batsman Kevin Pietersen has hinted that time may be called on his test career, just as the nation starts to take in the brilliance of his 149 in the drawn second test match with South Africa at Headingley....

With ever increasing tensions being reached in the England camp, over just what and how it was said, when Pietersen wanted to reduce his limited overs cricket, a process which saw talks played out in the media, along with England and Pietersen parting company in all shorter forms of the game.

Now, it appears that Pietersen is striking back against the leaking of those talks, alongside the never ending speculation on just what his demands where in the first place.

Many beleive that Pietersen wanted to play a full part in the IPL, a decision which would have left him wanting to miss the opening test matches of the English summer, but that he would still be available for all forms of the game thereafter.

Now, that was never going to be the case with the England back room staff, or indeed the ECB, so now with rumours that the dressing room are now also getting fed up of the talk, Pietersen is hinting that he will simply call time on the whole lot.

He told BBC TMS after the Headingley test match "I can't give any assurances, I love playing Test cricket, but there are obstacles and I'll decide what happens at the end of the next Test."

For him though, the biggest gripe at the moment, is how the story was played out in the media

"Did I leak anything to the media about the meetings I was having with the ECB? I never spoke to the media for one single second, I never spoke a single word about anything that happened behind closed doors, or what I thought was closed doors."

It is clear now that coach Andy Flower will have to step in and close the episode, with the most likely outcome that Pietersen will be left out of the test side, with little chance of the ECB and KP coming to any sort of agreement.

The only decision though now, looks like will Lord's be KP's swansong? or will England say, enough is enough and leave the most talented batsmen we have seen in many a year, out of the final test match with South Africa.

It is a sad end that politics is going to see the end for Kevin, but in true KP style, the last word goes to the big man "For me, the saddest part about all this is that the spectators love watching me play and I love playing for England" He concluded in his post match interview.

I'm getting a little tired of hearing about KP now to be honest, but have to agree with him, that there appears to be a little bit of jealously somewhere and people keep leeking stories about him, lot more to this story me thinks...
