England's opening One Day International with Australia was called off without a ball being bowled as rain put paid to any possible play.
Both umpires made a call at 13:30 to call off the match, with no play possible as rain continued to fall, and large puddles on the outfield still visible.
It was in stark contrast to the previous day, as both teams were able to warm up in clear blue skies and train in short sleeves.
Now, attention moves to Old Trafford on Sunday for the second of the five matches.
