Gayle out of ODI series with England

England will face a weaker West Indies side in the upcoming three match ODI series, after news broke that opener Chris Gayle will miss the series due to a back injury....

Gayle is still hoping to make the Twenty20 games with England which follow, and form part of the preperation for the T20 World Cup in later March, out in Bangladesh.

"He had precautionary scans and will have medical management and treatment in Jamaica," a Windies statement read.

England squad for World Twenty20 and West Indies tour: Stuart Broad (Nottinghamshire, captain), Eoin Morgan (Middlesex, vice captain), Moeen Ali (Worcestershire), Ravi Bopara (Essex), Tim Bresnan (Yorkshire), Jos Buttler (Lancashire, wk), Jade Dernbach (Surrey), Alex Hales (Nottinghamshire), Chris Jordan (Sussex), Michael Lumb (Nottinghamshire), Stephen Parry (Lancashire), Joe Root (Yorkshire), Ben Stokes (Durham), James Tredwell (Kent), Luke Wright (Sussex).
